Daniel9 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I'm getting tired of the shallow people, bad air, overpriced houses, etc., here in southern California. What place would you recommend for me, my wife and 8-year-old son?
Noel's angel Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I'm happy with where I live. A beach, lots of fields, clean air. It's nice to wake up, look out my living room window and see the sun rising over the sea.
Lena Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 the Midwest...I'd recommend my home state of MI, but the economy isn't the greatest---I still love Northern MI though.

I don't quite have that, but I do get to see the sun rising over the river, with the Welsh hills in the distance.
alicemary Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I live along the Bllue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, a very lovely area. Clean air, low cost of living, reasonable housing. I may not get ocean views, but have views of the hills always in the distance. We have a rush minute not a rush hour. I moved here from New Jersey which is very expensive to live, far too crowded, too many cars people and exhaust. I came looking for a better life and found it email me if you want more info
Ash Wednesday Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) I'm on holiday in Norway and it is considered one of the most livable countries in the world for a reason. The pristine and gorgeous nature, quality of life and cleanliness of everything is incredible. I've been torn between whether I'd live here or England, and yes, sometimes I really miss America, too. The downside of Norway is that it is somewhat isolated. And that Lutheran thing. Sometimes I'd say "What a cute church... shame it's Lutheran... (I know, not nice of me) There ARE Catholic churches and stuff like that here... but still. Gotta get those people converted back, y'all, then it would be utopia. A lot of southern Californians have moved up to my home state of Washington... but I'd be committing Washingtonian "heresy" by encouraging this. But Montana is great.... rachael Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007
not south alabama, either
just generally not the deep South East...
Alabaster Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Southern Tennessee and north Alabama! Beautiful area. You have the foothills of the Appalachians and excellent food!
homeschoolmom Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Minnesota, of course.... We could use more eight year old boys.

chelsea Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 move to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Its so great. You can get tons of land for real cheap then build a mansion-like house. You're right on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, and there is little traffic. You can get in tune with nature.
Mercy me Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 What are your requirements for a place to live? Are you in a particular industry? Do you like urban, suburban or rural living?
