It makes me kind of ill. How is this different from selling your kidney or part of your liver or anything else?

If you can't get pregnant, just adopt. Leave the creation business to GOD.

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure that's the Catholic perspective on it. God ordained that children be created through sex. He established no other method from which they can come forth. Artifical insemination is always wrong, even if it is a lesser evil than murder(which it is).

But isn't (in this case) the best moral alternative, rather than killing babies? Wouldn't it be better to adopt them and give them a chance at life?

It sounds like they're talking about the "leftover" embrios that people keep in freezers... yeah, I think they should be adopted... I don't advocated them being made in the first place, but what do we do with those who have been made that way?

Oops...my mistake. I thought they were recruiting people to give up their embryos just for adoption. I suppose that won't be very far off. Yes, I suppose this would be a much better thing to do with them than do research on them or toss them out.
