How Did Your Parents React To The News Of Your Vocation?

I am wondering if anyone would like to share how your family reacted to the news of your religious vocation. A week and a half ago, I was finally given the courage to break the news to my mother about my vocation to contemplative/cloistered life, which is something I had been postponing for most of my adult life because she is fiercely opposed to my involvement in the Catholic Church. She told me that she will [i]never[/i] set foot in the Monastery, so if I enter I will never see her again (but I trust that our Lord will soften her heart in time!).
