phatcatholic Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 please, for the sake of the Truth that we all hold so dear, thoroughly read the following article: --Rescuing Romans from the Reformers i am begging Catholic and non-Catholic alike to please read this article. thank you and May God Bless You, phatcatholic
Hananiah Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Jacob Michael's articles on baptism, the new lectionary, and the new Mass are also excellent: http://www.lumengentleman.com/content.asp?...er_regeneration http://www.lumengentleman.com/content.asp?..._gospel_matthew http://www.lumengentleman.com/content.asp?file=novus_ordo Respectively. Unfortunately, Mr. Michael seems to have gotten mixed up with the SSPX recently. He was at the protest against the Buddhist monks in the Grand Rapids Basillica. http://www.dailycatholic.org/issue/04Feb/feb12qds.htm
cmotherofpirl Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 I try to avoid reading that blurb whenever possible. Blogs are much better.
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 He gives links to two ultratraditionalist sites in his links page. I sense a feeling of ultratraditionalism there too.
Sojourner Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Thanks for the link, phatcatholic. I've found myself more than once in discussions with people who have taken verses in Romans far out of context, so this will be a good resource.
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Did anyone else notice that one of his linked pages frequently attacks Karl Keating?
Dave Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Yeah, Jacob Michael is, unfortunately, mixed up with the SSPX. I already knew that, but heck, there's nothing wrong with the particular article. Even SSPX-ers can get things right sometimes, ya know. :P
Hananiah Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Did anyone else notice that one of his linked pages frequently attacks Karl Keating? Apparently Mr. Keating has been having Catholic Answers call up all the churches that book Gerry Matatics as a speaker to try to get them to cancel his engagements. Bob Sungenis got really ticked off at Keating and accused him of taking food out of the mouths of Mr. Matatics' children. It's quite a mess. Pray for them; we need unity among the defenders of our faith.
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 I guess some of the articles ar euseful but some are to be avoided. I thought it was hilarious that he linked a site that promotes geocentricism. "Why can't... We be friends, why can't... We be friends?" -Some song they play at hockey games...
Hananiah Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 You won't find a link to this anywhere on Jacob Michael's site, but he actually hosts an interview wherein he expresses enthusiasm for geocentrism himself. http://www.lumengentleman.com/index.asp?f=geocentrism
Laudate_Dominum Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Apparently Mr. Keating and Matatics have some major beef! It's really too bad.. *sigh* :(
foundsheep Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I guess some of the articles ar euseful but some are to be avoided. I thought it was hilarious that he linked a site that promotes geocentricism. "Why can't... We be friends, why can't... We be friends?" -Some song they play at hockey games... Thats song is by a group called WAR. My son came home from ccd singing a new version caled "Why cant we be lambs"
