immaculata
I checked out your school's web-site immaculata! That's VERY different than the Catholic schools in Canada. Tuition: $3,380? Don't you guys have a Catholic School system? Yes, the Catholic schools here in the states are considered private institutions, and receive no finiancial backing from the government. In fact, in my state (Illinois), the Catholic schools recently almost lost their accredidation. That means that they would no longer be recognized by the state as an actual school, and colleges would not accept our transcripts. LUCKILY, though, the bill didn't go through. Just goes to show ya.. Financial problems are a huge issue facing Catholic schools. Our bishop recently was forced to close one of our grade schools. It's a shame, really. Gunga_ann
I go to public school. The funny thing is that my school's mascot is a Red Devil. Hehehe. I love going to different retreats and there is a devil on my shoulder. I used to go to a Catholic school, but it only went up to sixth grade. And the closest Catholic high school is like and 45 minutes away. :nerd:

immaculata
Homeschoolers ROCK. I plan to homeschool my kids, but probably only up through grade school. Do you use Seton? I hear it's pretty good.
the_rev
I wish I went to a Catholic School! I wish I could I wish I could I wish I could Man it didn't happen! Darn it!
immaculata
It all really depends on the quality of Catholic school that's available too. I'd rather homeschool or send my kids to public school if the only Catholic high school around was heterodox
the_rev
Also, Catholic Schools cost so much!
stargirl3:16
I used to go to a Catholic school, but i'm in a public school now. the odd thing is that some of the kids i know that go to the Catholic school could be classified as "lukewarm", while the Catholic kids at my school are more on fire for their faith. Ironic, isn't it? Edited February 24, 2004 by stargirl3:
VeraMaria
yeah, most people in my youth group go to catholic schools, and they're beyond lukewarm ...its so sad....the catrholic schools here in miami are messed up (the high schools)
Thomas
Yeah it looks like your Catholic Schools do cost a lot. Hmm, I have a lot to be thankful for. Y'know you guys, you could save a lot of money by just moving to Canada and going to a Catholic school here... ;)
EcceNovaFacioOmni
I got to a Catholic school. It's all boys. I used to go to public school, but I hated it and needed a change so I left after 8th grade. I know some good Catholics. Sadly, some of our religion classes are a bit unorthodox. I was told by a deacon that Jesus had brothers...

Sammy Blaze
I go to a Baptist University.......... hehe It's actually not bad, most of my professors have nothing but great things to say when it comes to their experiences with Catholicism....and they know not to spread misconceptions with a guy like me in their class. ~S.
