cathgirl
I go to public school. The funny thing is that my school's mascot is a Red Devil. Hehehe. I love going to different retreats and there is a devil on my shoulder.
stargirl3:16
I actually have a theory as to why kids at catholic schools are lukewarm: catholic schoolers are so used to being surrounded by catholicism that they take it for granted, whereas public schoolers are denied that opportunity, so they cling to their faith all the more. What do you think?

What do you think? I agree with you 100% completely!!!! At my school especially, (moans and groans from everyone as rebirth talks about his school AGAIN) the students take all that has been given us for granted, and they just look at it as a waste of time. I love my school because of the religion classes and because i can talk to a priest whenever i need to!!! it's wonderful to get that kind of guidance, but hardly anyone recognizes it. :(
cathgirl
That's really cool that you do like your kind of school though!! It's kinda sad how there are a lot of people like you who really enjoy going to a Catholic school, but the others make a stereotype that all kids who go to Catholic School are lukewarm. Exactly. You will find lukewarm Catholics anywhere you go- public school, private school, work, home, church.. anywhere. Don't go knocking the Catholic schoolers and saying that we don't appreciate our faith because of a few people. I could say the exact same thing about public schools. ilovechrist
I'm the only Homeschooler. :chinese: NO you're not the only homeschooler on here! Homeschooling is amesome, which is why my 5 siblings and myself are homeschooled. My parents make their own curriculum, taking their favorite books from different 'set' curriculums. This is my 10th year of being homeschooled, so trust me- :D -i know what i'm talking about when it comes to this subject. I currently take classes at community colleges that double as both high school and college credit (i.e. Physics, stuff that might be challenging for me at home), as well as other subjects that i can easily take at home (i.e. Saxon Math topics, etc.). being homeschooled i can easily keep my faith alive, since i have many friends that go to public/Catholic/private schools, that may not share my faith. remember: homeschooled=parents make the final grade on the subjects NOT: homeschooled=no social life, trapped and taught only by mom ^_^ -ben

My parents wanted me and my 9 siblings to get the most Catholic education possible, among other things. That's why I've been home for 13 years(inlcuding kindergarten), and graduate from H.S. in a couple months having known nothing else. I'm pretty psyched about having a change of pace with college though. P.S. Saxon?!? I hated Saxon, but that was long time ago. We make up our own curriculum as well, so I've done alot of things. Iacobus
stargirl3:16, I like ur theory. I wish I could go to a Catholic school, but with so little time left it HS I just don't care. I think I will just likely end up in a Jesuit College though, so that will make up for all my time in public HS.
Gretchen
i go to a public school! the same school as Gunga Ann. I'm really not sure how I feel about our mascot being a red devil...it's different. I can't mention my school w/out sharing that our school doesn't have windows or walls and everything is round! The aerial view looks like crop circles! Iacobus
That sounds cool. My school looks like a bunker set in the earth cause all the windows are at ground level and the building is very short vertical. And the windows are REALLLY small. But oh well. Gretchen
i don't mind not having windows as much as not having walls. We have areas with doors that we can look out. A lot of times I end up hearing 10 differernt classes going on during one class hour. Everyone is great at drowning things out. I do kinda like it, it makes classes more interesting.
