Brother Adam Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Funny thing is, once you are accepted, you stop worrying about being accepted and start worrying about whether the paper you wrote for your first class is what the teacher is actually looking for when you have no in class time and don't have 30 other classmates to bounce ideas off of. It makes me much more paranoid.
N/A Gone Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 you included a simpsons reference. Baby Jesus smiles at such things.
littleflower+JMJ Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I"m sure you are going to do well and get accepted! I'm sure it will go well just don't hurt yourself too much during the wait. You gotta have something to start with when you get accepted! lol Rev-->

I'm pretty sure...
My concern is my undergrad GPA was bad due to issues converting at a Protestant bible college. But I wrote Fr. pattee a letter explaining that and I got good references. I just really want to get in.
Laudate_Dominum Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 If Fr. Pattee put in a word for you it is probably in the bag. Sweeeeeet.

I am legitly worried that I will not be. But that could be the inner emo boy. Just pray for me to get accepted please.
I'll be saying a prayer for you. And we can woot-woot your return to Phatmass. If it is God's will for you to be there, that letter you sent will help. You are smart and they would be idots to pass you over because of a couple bad terms. Edited March 12, 2008 by Light and Truth

You could always go picket him.
jmjtina Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Prayers for you.... and phunny, I thought you wrote Fr. Phattie!!!!!!!!!!
Brother Adam Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Fr. Pattee is in charge of the grad program. Not a man to cross when it comes to grades either. He gave me my one C at FUS... he exploded at the undergrad students when he thought they were slacking even though there was a big bug going around.
N/A Gone Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Sounds like my hero. And you were slacking A "bug" sheesshh (hopefully he still has mercy on my grades)
Apotheoun Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 During the two years that I was there I never had a class with Fr. (Dr.) Dan. My favorite professor was, is, and will always be, Dr. Hildebrand.
Brother Adam Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Dr. Hildebrand simply IS the best teacher at FUS. I learned more from one of his classes than I did the rest of the year with other profs combined. I wish he taught more distance ed MA classes.

I wanna get into this one university really bad... it has a Catholic program there, but my main will be music... the other Uni I applied to has a Lutheran Seminary

I gotta ask why. FUS has a distance learning program? Edited March 17, 2008 by Light and Truth
jeffpugh Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I didn't apply to a Lutheran seminary, I said the other University in which I applied for the music program has a Lutheran seminary... I want to take some theological courses, so I want to be in a somewhat Catholic environment. Yeah, I'll try to be clearer next time.

We petitioned to have him teach an undergrad class on the Cappadocian Fathers, but it fell through and I never got to take the class.
N/A Gone Posted March 18, 2008 Author Posted March 18, 2008 I talked to Dr. Hildebrand via email a couple times while I was writing my filioque paper (thanks to Adam) I wonder if I should contact him about applying to FUS. He seems like a very nice guy with a great mind. I am still waiting. Very concerning right now.
