I pray Morning and Evening prayer, sometimes night prayer. I think I like Morning Prayer the best, mostly because of the Invitiatory Psalm and I love the Canticle of Zacharia (or however you spell it lol).

I've seen the greatest benefit from the Office of Readings. I wasn't "getting" the psalms, so I've decided to focus on them. Instead of praying the hours, I've been praying the psalms alone. Found two books that list the cycle - all 150 in one week - one from the 30s or 40s; another more recent with a St. Joseph's translation

I just asked this in VS, but thought I'd ask here too: Does anyone know, are there any partial or plenary indulgences that can be gained by praying the Divine Office (with the other necessary conditions for the plenary indulgence)?

I believe there was a plenary indulgence for the Year of the Eucharist, but I'm not sure what there are now. Thanks!

I pray morning and evening hours and the office of readings for the saints every day. I read the daytime hours every other week day when I work at home and on the weekends.
I so cuddle with my weeble and wub the psalms and have gotten so familiar with them.

I hope they don't change too much with a new issue because I just bought mine last summer and I paid a lot for a new set bound in leather. They are so new. Except for the one I spilled chocolate milk on. A couple pages are forever stuck together.

I cuddle with my weeble and wub the Liturgy.

Okay, what happened to the last sentence that I typed? I know I have jet lag but, I am sure I did not type that.
Is that legal to add tripey stuff to someone's post?

i cuddle with my weeble and wub Night Prayer the most - "Protect us Lord, as we stay awake, watch over us as we sleep, that awake, we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in His peace." - That's my favorite. Oh, and finishing the hour with the Ultima is an awesome way to end the day.

I no longer pray it, but when I did, I was a fan of Compline.

Compline is the bessssssssst.

I've been trying to pray it more lately. There's an awesome app that is FREE right now that has all the prayers for each day! :)

I think I'm gonna try doing Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline when I can. I already do Compline before bed every night, but I feel like adding prayer to my breaks between classes will help me focus my day on Him.

my favorite depends on the day, psalms, and my mood, but compline ranks pretty high with the marian verses afterwards and the examination of conscience.

I pray Lauds, Vespers, Compline, and the OOR as Vigils. I love them all for different reasons, but Compline has always been just the best way to end a day.

I currently am using the contemporary US LOTH, but I want to get the Baronius version when it is finished (hopefully soon). I also use my Little Office of the BVM on occasion, especially if I have occasion to pray one of the minor hours, and I kind of prefer the composition, layout and translation of the traditional breviary.

compline is my favorite

My household brothers and I at Franciscan used to chant it and it was amazing... ahhhh chant :)

I really want baronius press to come out though, soon!

I usually pray Morning, Evening, and Night prayer. Sometimes I'll read the Office without praying the psalms. And once in a great once in a while I'll also do one of the day time prayers if I'm in the chapel in the middle of the day.

I think my favorite is Morning Prayer, if only because I find it to be a wonderful way to start off the day.
