Does anyone know of Dominican sisters that engage in evangelization and parish missions as part of their work? :scratchhead:

I know they have missions overseas in South America etc. But I don't know if they are Parish Missions.

Here's a general link to the active houses of Dominican sisters in the US.

...some have merged and others are thinking of merging. In the past, there were many independent houses of Dominicans and Franciscans active orders, and now they are merging with the changing times. That doesn't mean that these aren't vital, viable groups. I counted 26 groups.

These in Houston:

And this from their mission statement:

"Our sisters minister in education, parish ministry, religious education, social services, campus ministry, counseling, hospital and port chaplaincy, medical, legal, family and women's services, ministry with the aging, music and art, our Guatemala mission, retreat work, community organizing, and refugee assistance."

I'm *gulp* discerning with the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph. I've got some info on them if anyone is interested.

However, I'm leaving on a choir/orchestra tour tomorrow, so you'd have to way until May 6th :) And PM would probably work best.
