HisChildForever
In the very beginning of the film, was Scarecrow ON Batman's side or AGAINST it? I thought he was hanging around the fake Batmans, because didn't he tell the real Batman that he was just trying to help? (And I'm under the impression that those Batman guys were wanna-be-Batmans, not evil impersonators.)

Scarecrow was just up to more of his mischief - peddling his fear toxin to the mob, or whatever he was up to (I forget, wasn't a huge part of the plot.) The Batman wanna-bes were also trying to take him down and fight crime, though Batman took them down to. They were using methods the real Batman did not approve of (gunning crooks down with semi-automatics, etc.) and becoming a nuisance to him. I think this was inspired by scenes in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns where the Batman's return inspires citizens to violently take the law into their own hands, some of them dressed as the Batman.
aalpha1989
I'm seeing TDK a third time tomorrow... I know so many people that want to see it that they ask me to go... why say no when tickets are $5 on weekdays?
I was also confused by the Scarecrow stuff... I really thought he was with the wannabe's... it seemed like he had them there as his protection against whatever the mob would try to pull (i.e. dogs, etc.)... and then he was the one who said "We're just trying to help," wasn't he? But I do think that his appearance in a third movie would be a bit redundant, and I was wondering why they bothered including him in TDK unless he was going to reappear later. Maybe just to show how weak and pathetic he had become since Batman finished with him in the last movie?

Socrates
I'm finally going to see it in IMAX tonight: Yahoo! If anyone's interested, I've lately posted some in a discussion of the movie in Barbara Nicolosi's (of Act One fame) blog (she hates the movie). You have to go to her post on The Dark Knight and click on "comments" - I'm posting as "TheDarkKnight." (For some reason, it wouldn't post my last comment though.)
