I saw it yesterday. It was really really good. I was really surprised that
two face died at the end. Who's gonna be the villain in the next one? That young guy in Wayne's company is obviously gonna be Robin. Is Rachel really dead? Cause wasn't there a brief scene of her on a gurney (sp?)? Idk.

I think Maroney's gonna be the Riddler.

its not really 100% if he died or not. That young guy wont be robin, nolan has said he will be doing a movie robin at all.

he said no robin? That makes sense, I never liked him, but doesn't it seem like that's where it's leading?
Robin was from the circus and from what I understand of his character, would never blackmail Batman.

He was more of a daredevil than a self absorbed accountant.

There is still the riddler, poison ivy, and other villians to introduce. I wonder if they will do "The Dark Knight Returns"?
oh and yes, Rachel dying did bother me. But since she choose Harvey over Bruce, I didn't feel too bad. If she would have stayed at the penthouse instead of running off, she wouldn't be dead. Where did she run off to?

I am glad that she died. A) she is not a "real" character B) was not particularly engaging. Furthermore, after seeing it again, it is my view that the only weak part of the movie was the love-triangle they weaved between her, Deny and Bruce. They should've stuck to the Harvey Dent story from The Longest Halloween where he was married and had a young child, just like Gordon. It seemed unnecessary to create this schoolboy feud between Bruce and Dent over Rachel.

But, anyway, I'm grasping at straws. The movie was STILL the best movie I've seen in years.
Just saw it today, thought it was very cool, disturbing, and sad. Ledger's performance made the whole movie for me, but the ending made me not like it a whole lot :annoyed:

It was a good movie. Not a life-changing movie, but it was good.
I did not like the ending for two reasons. First, I just thought it was kind of flat. But also, from a moral perspective, he should not have lied. The ends do not justify the means.

There were a few other things in the movie that I did not like from a moral perspective, such as Bruce Wayne's public persona as a bachelor with no restraints.
The Joker performance was amazing.
I was thinking at the end that the Joker was still alive, so he could return in the next movie. But then I remembered what happened to Heath Ledger. They could cast a new actor, but I don't know if it would be the same.
It certainly seems silly to try to follow up Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, but there are still some great villains out there in the Batman universe. Someone has already mentioned Riddler, you also have Poison Ivy, Catwoman (I really hope not), Penguin (again, please no) The Mad Hatter,
We've seen the Scarecrow is still around so he can play a small role, and two-face is not necessarily dead I think.
I think the coolest villain left will be Bane. Robin will have to be introduced first though to further the story (for those that know what happens with Bane, and the subsequent plot developments.)

My bet is on Riddler as the next villain. Given the way this franchise is trying to portray the Batman universe as "believable" and clever, Riddler would be a natural choice. Think of the clever traps and suspense of the Saw / Hannibal Lector movies; there's just so many possibilities, and it could all be done in a very believable way.

Oh. And I saw it on IMAX. For the win.

Good-- great movie. Borderlining epic. Wonderful acting by Heath Ledger. I'd like to go see it again. I didn't think two-face's "second face" looked all that believable.. and to be honest, I laughed out loud when they first showed it.

nolan has said this jokingly "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work." in the movies timeline you would need to jump foward awhile since batman is just starting to bring in robin anyway.

I saw it the other night. I really liked it, Ledger was amazing in it. It makes me really sad hes not around to make more films like this one.

I have a question though...

Do the films link together at all? Not just Batman Begins, but say the first batman?
He has to be dead. They showed the commissioner holding a public memorial for him, so presumably they had his dead body, buried him, etc.
