How do they reconcile that one...

prose Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited)
Liberals keep trying to find that one moral "high ground" that will ease their conscience on abortion. They view themselves as being generous when they decide they want animals, plants, and minerals to have rights.
The thing is, we don't know. Maybe this is one way to work towards the rights of the unborn. I am not by any stretch of the imagination trying to suggest that plants should not be eaten or used for the good of man, but there is some intelligence in ensuring that all living things are not senselessly destroyed. There may be liberals (you might have to sit down for this) that are pro-life. Yes, I've said it. We can't bulk all people into one group (especially such a negative one) just because the majority think that way. The majority of married Catholics use birthcontrol (I think the rates are around 75%), I certainly hope I am not thrown into the assumption that I am using bc just because they are. This law is an interesting idea. It is crazy because of the extent of it, but it is interesting because of the idea of it. If one can maintain that plants have rights, it is quite east to argue for the rights of an unborn child. Edited May 6, 2008 by prose

Here's my question...does this apply to fruits, or just vegetables?
