Was wondering, does anyone have a picture of them or know what they'll look like?
Thanks :-)

Carmelite and traditional style, from what I hear.

I don't know if they'll have a cloak (cappa) or not, but take a picture of St. Therese, and make everything blue except the whitework around the face.

I have a pic of a suppressed community in France that looks a lot like what they're going to wear. If you wish, I can email it to you. I don't know how to post pix here on PM.

Blessings,
Gemma

But she said she didn't know how to post it. I guess it would just be easier for her to send it through email.

Actually, it will look more like the photo of St Teresa of Avila in this statue. The fabric for the habit is a blue lightweight wool, and the toque (wimple) is a stretch cotton white. Yes, there will be a mantle - it will be the same color and material as the habit - not the cream color that Carmelites wear. The veil will be white for Novices and the same blue material as the habit for Professed sisters (not black).

I have asked her if she will pose for a photo when it is done - and then post it on the website - we will see if I can talk her into it.

It isn't up and running yet, but here is the info...

[i]Our new website is being put together and should be up and running before too long. The address will be: www.MotherOfIsraelsHope.org. (If you click on that address now, you’ll get a blank page!) If you wish, in the interim, to take a look at the parish of Saint George at which our convent is located, you can see it at: http://www.romeofthewest.com/2006/02/photo...rch-affton.html. I think this is the picture you mean of the Marian Sisters of Israel and St. John from France (picture from Nuns Picture Thread from EJames)

Also, the Sisters of St. John - their habit was made to be similar to the Carmelite habit, as one of their founding sisters was a Discalced Carmelite I was told by a friend who is close to the community in Princeville, IL (picture of the Apostolic Sisters)

Wow, what a beautiful parish!! It looks very similar to the beautiful Carmel there in St. Louis. That's so great their convent is going to be there!

Yep, that first one was the one I had in mind.

Similar name--how'd you come by it?

from the Nuns Pictures Thread from EJames (page 7-8) He wasn't certain it was the Marian Sisters, but said their habit looked exactly like that.

here's the Franciscan Daughters of Mary in KY, whose habit has a scapular like the Carmelites too

This is the picture i was looking for, i knew it was around here somewhere... what is interesting regarding Rosalind Moss' new Community is that the Sisters in this picture are called the 'Marian Sisters of Israel' they also had white capes which i only saw them wear if they came to Mass at St Jodard.
( i understand their are a few still together resurfacing/renewing at Mars, not the planet silly, the town in France..:P))

Looking at the website link given above (not with a blue habit like described above, though), you can basically follow the history of the community through the newsletters here: http://motherofisraelshope.org/newsletters/ It looks like it consists of Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God (formerly Rosalind Moss) and four postulants (five entered, but I guess one of them left) at the moment. And they're in France for fourteen months of formation at a Benedictine (I think) monastery there until next November.
