Anybody got any favorite vocation quotes by Our Lord, Our Lady, a saint, someone else you know, etc? Years ago on "Angel Force" (yea I watched that a long time ago on EWTN) that two thousand years ago twelve men changed the world and twelve men can change the world today. How cool of priest quote is that!

It may not be a vocation quote, but I still find it humourous. It is by Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
"Hearing nuns' Confessions is like being stoned to death with popcorn."
God Bless

"God is enough, and everything else is not enough."

"Be strengthened in Almighty God and in the power of His might, for with His help nothing is difficult. Throw off the heavy load of your own will, cast aside the burden of sin, and gird yourselves as valiant warriors. Forget what you are leaving behind; strain forward to the great things before you. I tell you that every place where you set foot shall be yours. For the Spirit who goes before your face is Christ the Lord. He will carry you to the topmost peak in the arms of His love."
-Saint Francis of Assisi

"If anyone is seeking God, know that the Beloved is seeking that person much more."
St. John of the Cross

Who except God can give you peace? Has the world ever been able to satisfy the heart?
-- St. Gerard Majella

"He does not ask our worthiness; He asks our openness. I desire my life to be a source of hope for others, a sign that God wills to work out His unique designs in each one of us.”

And not really a "vocation" quote, but I love it anyway:
"When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now"
- Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

One, you are probably familiar with:

God has created
me to do Him some definite service;
He has committed some work to me which He
has not committed to another.
I have my mission;
I never may know it in this life,
but I shall be told it in the next.
I have a part in a great work;
I am a link in a chain,
a bond of connection between persons.
He has not created me for naught.
I shall do good, I shall do His work;
I shall be an angel of peace,
a preacher of truth in my own place,
while not intending it,
if I do but keep His commandments
and serve Him in my calling.
—Cardinal John Henry Newman

"The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you, and still more will be given to you." Mk 4:24

And also the part in 1 Cor about the many parts but one body.

"And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomine Patri, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti." ~Boondock Saints

"And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none." ~Ezekeil 22:30

"God is calling you to be his spouse, to love him totally, to make him your all, to set aside any other love and choose only Him. Since you know God is offering you the treasure of his love, and has chosen you for himself,
you will make sure that you always keep him in first place. (from Shorelines)

"I think that God chooses fruits from every season. Isn't it the diversity of the fruits and flowers in a garden that makes it so pleasant?" - St. Therese to a fellow nun (who was a belated vocation), Sr. Marie-Philomene of Jesus, regarding her thoughts on older vocations

I'm not sure if this was specifically a vocation quote, but it seems appropriate.

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal. -John Paul II
