Paladin D Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Let's say someone you know claimed that he left his own body (his spirit did). Though he wasn't dieing, but for some odd reason it just occured. He could see his body sleeping, and he saw a demonic spirit in the home which he rebuked and drew off out of the home (while being outside of his body). He could see where everyone else was, how the weather was, and etc. Then he goes back into his body, and wakes up. Everyone is in the same place, the weather is the same, and all the furniture and objects are in the same places. What would you think? This is what my older brother claims, and I'm not sure what to think. If it's legit, isn't that dangerous??? He isn't one to lie intentionally on such serious matters, and he wouldn't do such a thing to screw me over. Since he also claimed the demonic spirit looked like Darth Vader, thus my family is a little anti-Star Wars now, and I can't play SW games. And no, he doesn't practice magic or anything... he's a serious Christian. So... I'm confused. Btw, this happened sometime in the summer of 03.
God Conquers Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 hmmm, while I agree that it is possible to have spiritual sight and we can definately rebuke demons (In CHrist's name) somehow the Darth Vader bit doesn't fit in.
Paladin D Posted March 3, 2004 Author Posted March 3, 2004 Does the Church have anything in regards to one's spirit leaving one's body or spiritual sight?
M.SIGGA Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 I think there is something said towards bi-location as a charism in some of the stories about the saints, like Sts. Martin de Porres, Gerard Majella, John Bosco, etc. but I don't know the specifics. Do your folks know about your avatar? ^_^

I just can't play SW games anymore (and I'm a gamer, so that's a killer).
