The Price For Hips...
...is $60.00 and way too much that I will pay.

What am I talking about? I am talking about the fact that jeans do not fit me :annoyed: I am not talking about the fact that I gained weight...in fact I didn't. I am talking about these companies who are selling jeans with stinkin' skinny hips/thighs on EVERY SINGLE PAIR!! Hello? I am well over the age of 12. God fobid that take into account that some women over puberty have HIPS. Oh and having hips DOES NOT mean that someone needs to loose weight. You can't...I repeat...can't lose bone.

Message to the companies:

God designed four basic pelvic shapes: Gynaecoid, Android, Anthropoid, Platypelloid. Not everyone is a stinkin' android!!! Not all women are "banana" shaped...there ARE pear and hour glass people.

And no, I am not going to get a bigger size just so that my hips fit....if I were to do that...my waist would look ridiculous.

Oh, and could you please keep the sizes normal???? Forever 21 and Gap, I do not understand why a size 23 looks like a size 2. That's a little weird for me?

My question for you all:
1) For those curvy women: where do you find a good pair of jeans that fit both your hips and waist?
2) What is the size correlates with 23?

Thanks for letting me rant:

I hear ya! I like Gap curvy and Old navy sometimes works well, actually.

Gap also has a Boyfriend cut, which I haven't tried yet. But maybe.
My thing is wide leg pants...I have bigger calves than most...heck let's face it. My bottom half is bigger than my top half.

I love the flares and the wider leg pants because it doesn't show off how big my bottom half is. This "skinny fit" is not my thing. I was always one for the bell bottoms or sailor look :)
I love flared-leg jeans! They are very figure-flattering! The GAP has some out now and so does American Eagle Outiftters.

We do have Zara in the U.S. I love their clothing!! I could spend hours in there! I havent tried the jeans yet though.

I agree that skinny jeans look great as leggings, but I couldnt wear them any other way
GAP and American Eagle Outfitters do not work. Their curvy is the same as the slim fit for me.

And...farm and fleet only carries Wranglers for men.

I guess I need to look where they carry them.

i haven't worn jeans in ten years

Beats me. When I was in high school and a stick, I bought all my jeans in the guys department. I am tall so they were always long enough and they sat right on my hips. Love them. I like Levis. I will only wear straight leg jeans. I do have flares and kind of bell ones but I prefer pants that are completely straight. I hate baggy thighs.

I think WalMart carries both Wranglers and Levi.

New York and Company carries the best fitting jeans in my opinion. They carry everything from extra-low-rise to high-waist, and they have styles for every body type, slim, curvy, bigger rear-end, bigger hips, etc. They *can* be pricey (40-80 bucks) but they are QUALITY and remember you get what you pay for. I have never found jeans that fit better for under 100 dollars.

I absolutely LOVE NY and Company for everything...except pants. They just don't seem to fit me in the right places--maybe I just haven't found the right style of their pants. Jeans are the hardest thing to find (at least to find ones that fit well)---I'm still on the search.

bell bottoms and flares are fabulous!!!! Sometimes I can get a good pair of jeans from Deb's

I've had this problem for a long time, and I'm only sixteen. so you're not alone. :) I end up getting jeans that are a bit too big in the waist so they'll fit in the hips, and I wear belts. it's annoying, but it works. :idontknow:

I just got two pairs of jeans at Kohl's that fit pretty well... they cost more than I usually pay (I think one was $40ish? I don't remember), but they fit so much better than most of the stuff I find, I bought them anyway.

I have a butt, and they don't make jeans for girls with butts. :idontknow:

And while they're at it I wish they'd leave their smaller sizes alone, too. I get sick and tired of dropping my size lower and lower until I may as well be buying little girls clothes (except that they would be highwaters on me). I haven't lost any weight either! (Well, not outside of what I normally would weigh, losing pregnancy weight doesn't count.) I love jeans, I could live in them. It just stinks when I know I used to be able to go in and buy a pair in a given size off the rack and know it would fit perfectly... and now I have to try everything on and sometimes even the smallest size they carry doesn't fit properly. (OK, so I'm an android, maybe I don't have any right to complain... ...I do prefer a lower rise because of how higher rises feel on my belly post babies, but they aren't immodest.)

I have a fabulous pair of sailor style jeans from Express (I'm actually wearing them right now). Knowing the way they fit me I would think that they'd fit a different body type as easily as they fit me (they're a little loose in the hip/waist area). I bought them at a TJ Maxx type discount store they have in the PA area called Gabriel Brothers... LOVE that place. I also bought a pair of Baby Phat jeans (flare leg) there (for like 10 bucks) that have a slightly higher rise, and another pair of flare leg Express jeans (I try to stock up when I am near a Gabe's, I can't beat the prices so if I spend 150 bucks on clothing I know I am getting my money's worth at least!). Express has been a long time favorite of mine, though (although I've noticed that since I decided I liked the way they fit in college they've changed their cuts and sizing a little... they still work for me pretty well). I've tried other brands and rarely do I find one that I really, really like. Industrial Cotton from Fashion bug is another one... my little sister stays true to the black part of our heritage and has a serious ghetto booty (she's freakin' adorable) and she wears Industrial Cotton pretty well. So, the two of us differ a bit in the booty department but we can both wear that brand.

Jeans aren't so merciful for those of us who have no hips, believe me.

Am I a creeper for reading this thread? Being a guy and all.
I have the opposite problem from all you lovely ladies; I'm tall and scrawny, and I have trouble finding mens' pants not made for people with... significantly larger waists than me.
So I end up with European fits and some pairs of jeans that I can never let go of because it took me forever to find. :)
It's a bit of an experience finding a pair of pants that fits. I kind of want to celebrate.

Not all of us. ;) Some of us have the same problem you do when it comes to finding pants that fit.

I have problems too! I think we all do, my solution is to take a whole day go to tj maxx and try on every pair of jeans in three sizes.

It works I usually end up with 2 pairs of jeans out of about 60.

what is funny is that even though I have very little in the chest area I have the same problem finding shirts, my shoulders are too big and I can't even get on half of the shirts marketed for girls.
