The T word. I'm far enough from my last one that I'm over it, and too far from my next one to be worried yet. I don't even know my topic yet.

My topic is the influence of media on the public's perception of crime. I didn't know that would be my topic until the final night I was in Boston at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences conference, celebrating the good fortunes of the trip with my fellow honors society members and the Dean and her two children. We were waiting on our food to come at the Cheesecake Factory when the Dean's daughter begins to speak disdainfully about how her Civics teacher had shown them an episode of Law and Order to demonstrate how the criminal justice system worked.

By the time the food came I had filled two napkins with notes on the idea and structure.
