I'm gonna go ahead and say that the author probably looked something like this while writing those lyrics: :smokey:

The Bus Station

Our music today was strange too... it was like a Good Friday Mass. They sang:

Were You There?
Remember Me (When You Come Into Your Kingdom)
And then a really sad song about Jesus carrying the cross.

I mean I like all these songs but I felt like they were more Good Friday-ish.

in the Extraordinary Form (which ought to be influencing the Ordinary Form according to Pope Benedict XVI's plans), Palm Sunday is also known as "Second Passion Sunday", last week having been the first "Passion Sunday"... this is why we read the passion narrative today, (in the Extraordinary Form, the Gospel about the palms is chanted prior to the mass in the ritual wherein the palms are blessed and distributed, and the passion narrative is chanted where the gospel is normally within the mass) and for that reason there should be a lot of reflection on Christ's cross... it should seem very similar to a Good Friday service in that respect. the veils are placed over statues and crucifixes in the Church starting last week, but the veil is removed from the processional crucifix today and on Good Friday (and all veils finally removed for good at the Easter Vigil)... it is very much a reflection on the passion. I think "Second Passion Sunday" is in many ways more fitting than the term "Palm Sunday" (Though both were used in the pre-Vatican II liturgy, I'm not saying new term bad old term good, I'm saying both are old terms but one is more fitting)... "Palm Sunday" just caught on more because the biggest memorable event of that Sunday is getting your palm.

Yeah, I got really confused last week when my Missal said Passion Sunday. That's when I learned the Passiontide lasted two weeks. Doy

I love the tradition of the veils over the statues. I don't know why but I like being deprived of things I find beautiful. That's why Lent is my favorite season of the Church. I'm a little bummed because I didn't get to experience Palm Sunday in the Extraordinary Form because my priest collapsed this morning and was rushed to the hospital. Thank God, he's recovering and is willing to do the Easter Mass still, God bless him.

Well, I mean, it was Passion Sunday, and they did read the passion from Mark. And, I mean, Jesus does die on the cross...

Hey, at least your choir chose songs that were related to the readings.
Yeah, both the narrator and the other reader were female today too. Not sure about that closing slong though... We had "Jesus Remember Me When You Come into Your Kingdom".
We sang the same closing hymn at our mass and both of our readers were female too.

If the speaker parts were women, would we have men saying them>?

This is just messed up.
