Tonight was my confirmation night.( yah me)

Tonight when we were downstairs ready to get Confirmed the Bishop came down and said to us "I am going to test you now". By this point every new confirm were nervous and their blood pressure went up because they did not want to be called on. Now I actually studied my saint and am well prepared. Well he calls on several people and they know diddly-scwat, later he ask for someone to volunteer to tell him about his/her saint. In a group of 60 to 80 people getting confirmed (and most of them went to Catholic school) only 3 others beside myself raised their hand.

ok fine he calls on someone who chose St. Patrick of Ireland. He ask him "what is his nationality". The candidate says "I don't know", ok fine the Bishop ask him the next question. "What is he the patron saint of"? Gets the same response, "I don't know". Finally he says "I encourage greatly all of you to study your saints and let the Holy Spirit come into your heart". By this time he's ticked off with he entire group.

Thankfully I knew about my saint. :smokey:

Has this ever happened to your confirmation group.

I love the smell of Chrism.

Well, when I got interrogated by the Archbishop at my Confirmation he asked me if I thought everyone in my class was ready and well-prepared to be confirmed. I didn't think all of them were, but of course I couldn't say that, so I fudged rather a lot and I think he just gave up on me and went to someone else.

Groo the Wanderer

I told my class Wed. night that if they get a question wrong when the Bishop asks them, I will die of embarrassment on the spot and make loud gurgling noise as I do so.

They were more horrified that I told them they had a test!

Saint Therese

I was confirmed by my pastore at Easter Vigil (1997) so I escaped the episcopal interrogation.

But I would have passed. I know EVERYTHING about St. Therese and lots about St. Clare.
So there! HA!

I was never quizzed and I am glad I didn't. I knew very little about St. Joan of Arc. I was heading towards St. Bernadette the whole time. It wasn't until the very last minute I switched my decision. I don't know why. Now I am in love with this awesome saint and know more than most about her life.

Congrats!

St. Joan? Yes, she was an animal person all around.

Doesn't mean I need to like them.

Vincent Vega

I picked St. Vincent de Paul.
I know a lot about him. I picked him because the vincentian hospital I worked in really helped lead to my conversion.
I often regret not picking St. Augustine though.

Saint Therese

St. Therese was my baptismal patron and St Clare of Assisi my confirmation patron.
I want my name to be wholly Christian.
Pluse they're both AWESOME!!

I resent the implication that I'm addicted to kitties.
