Saint Therese Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Its funny but I was attracted to St. Therese but am just now realizing why.
SaintOlaf Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Congrats on your Confirmation!!! I remember mine vividly, it was so exciting and amazing.
princessgianna Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Mine was awesome too I was confirmed by Archbishop Burke So awesome! Archaeology cat Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I wasn't quizzed. Nor was I confirmed by the Bishop, but by my pastor and his brother (both priests). I was also told I didn't have to choose a Confirmation Saint, but I did anyway: St Monica. My cousin (marielapin) first gave me some info about her, and I was very interested. I've always been drawn to prayer for others, and the fact that she prayed unceasingly for the conversion of her husband and son amazed me. So now she prays with me for the conversion of friends and family members.
SaintOlaf Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Saint Monica is my sister's confirmation name (she came home 2 years ago, and helped bring me along last year ) I love our treasury of Saints
SaintOlaf Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Saint John Chrysostom. It was going to be either him or Thomas Aquinas, about halfway through RCIA I found myself daily reading Chrysostom's homilies on the Gospels, and he swayed me to his side

SaintOlaf Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I really feel like he picked me, more than the other way around. I have all of his writings on my computer and it seems there's always something there to speak to me, and to help in my daily struggles.
I have heard somewhere (it might ve been here)that saints sometimes do pick us out. It would be like an older sister taking on a special affection to a particular younger sibling. :shrugshoulders: i think it is pretty cool myself. makes the saint's "more" alive if you will!
Nihil Obstat Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 My bishop asked us the Cardinal Moral Virtues and the Theological Virtues. He was joking. He did threaten to hit us with that stick though.
TotusTuusMaria Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009
I was confirmed by my pastore at Easter Vigil (1997) so I escaped the episcopal interrogation. But I would have passed. I know EVERYTHING about St. Therese and lots about St. Clare. So there! HA!
Theologian in Training Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Congrats, my bishop says the same. He is upset when Confirmation kids don't know the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. No wonder I teach Confirmation now
Hilde Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Well I am, but not in the Catholic church. In Norwegian the words are different.

I had a cool time laughing on the inside of me 'cause I was probably the only one who knew his saint bio.
rizz_loves_jesus Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Congrats on getting Confirmed We didn't get quizzed before we did. I dunno why. My saint was St. Cecilia

DemonSlayer Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 When I was confirmed, I didn't see the archbishop at any stage.
dauntingknight Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) I feel stupid cause I never told you my saints name. Edited April 25, 2009 by dauntingknight
