Groo the Wanderer
My issues were: Not smacking Prots over the head with their incomplete Bibles Charity issues like teasing JWs who come to the door Having to bathe more than once a year Not being allowed to wear lederhosen when serving as Lector Having to give up rhubarb on Tuesdays Believing the nuns in Sister Act were real (but I do know JPtG was in it!) Other than that: you MUST submit! No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!
LouisvilleFan
The latter, I believe. From what I can gather, it's the question of whether food and hydration (no matter how enriched it might be) is medicine (and thus "extraordinary means") that seems to be a stumbling block for many people I've met.
I thought extraordinary means were those things like keeping a patient on life support for an indeterminate length of time... basically, doing things that can call into question whether one is treasuring life or clinging to it. In contrast, giving a patient morphine is a rather ordinary measure... unless they request otherise, it's rather inhumane not to relieve someone from pain as much as possible. FiereMargriet
As I learned more about the faith, my issues were - women priests, contraception, and homosexual civil unions.
That's exactly what I had a problem with in the process of my reversion. It's still fairly difficult for me to explain the second two to non-Catholics, but I understand and accept the Church's teachings now that I have studied more and prayed and realized that there was no other Church to which I preferred to belong. I struggle with the contraception explanation issue, and in particular condoms (I find the pill is easy to explain why it is bad).

CatherineM
I will give the explanation I use in RCIA when the topic of female priests comes up. Jesus broke every social norm of his day. He dealt with lepers. He ate with tax collectors. He worked on the Sabbath, and ate with dirty hands. If he had wanted to ordain women, he would have, no question. He chose not to, and I don't have a right to question Jesus' wisdom on that. I was not made to be a priest. I was also not made to be a horse jockey. I was almost 5 ft. tall when I started school. I was not made to be a gymnast because I get dizzy just making a half turn. If God had wanted me to be a jockey or a gymnast, I'd have been born shorter, or with better inner ears. If God had wanted me to be a priest, he'd have made me a male. I walk with a crutch now. I will never run a marathon. I can sit around all day upset at God that I can't run. That would just make me miserable. I don't sit around angry at what I can't do. I prefer to work on the things I can. I sit in class with Seminarians studying the same subjects, and we will receive the same degrees. They will be ordained, and I won't be. I have as much right as any woman to be upset about the way things are. Acceptance is actually easier. Life is short enough without filling it full of regrets and desires for things that are beyond our reach.
tinytherese
I used to struggle with going to confession. I didn't like doing it but I did it anyway. I once had a really intense and intimate prayer moment with Our Lord about my struggles. That really helped me. Also, so did learning more about the beauty of confession. Now I go every month.
