I agree with Resurrexi, both in regard to venerating MLK and about the emotionalism of the Charismatic Movement.

The world must be about to end, because Resurrexi and I rarely agree about anything.

Apotheon, why do you see the Charismatic movement as overemotional? I think you may not know that three Popes have backed the movement. Is there emotionalism? Yes, because the Charismatic Movement is in the heart, as the Holy Spirit is in there heart. Is there too little discernment at times? Yes! But, under the guidance of the Holy See and local bishops, the movement will be honed.

My opinion that it is over-emotional has been formed by reading the writings of those in favor of the movement and from personal experience at various charismatic groups (both in California and while I attended FUS). The movement is a turn off to me because its theological underpinnings are Protestant, and as a former Protestant I have no interest in re-embracing my past spiritual views.

Yeah, well, we don't do that here. If you have an issue with someone, you can discuss it through private messages. If a post violates the guidelines-- hit report.
