Theologian in Training Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Just goes to show why paintings, icons and statues done prayerfully are so beautiful, because they, indeed, are borne out of prayer.
kafka Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 like the Cathedral of Chartes. I believe the architects and builders took a personal vow that they could only work on the (then) project of the then Cathedral while in the state of sanctifying grace.
Ziggamafu Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 First that video of Schonborn celebrating a Mass with strobe lights and balloons, now this... Hmm.
MithLuin Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I do think that statue is in bad taste, though I also think there is little I can do about it. I mean...I've never been to Austria. So, while we can all be indignant...what can we actually do about this?

CatherineM Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009
You make vestments???????? COOL!
Off and on for 30 years. The women on my dad's side have for generations. My mom inherited all those patterns when I was in 2nd grade. See, there was an incident in the school cafeteria involving me and mustard and the front of my Carmelite principal's habit. She had to make a new habit for her to keep me in school. Once she made for one, all the sisters wanted new ones, and then our pastor started asking how they ended up with new duds. So it was all my fault that my Protestant mother had to learn to sew chasubles and such, and since I got her into it, I had to help.
Moosey Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Awww that's a wicked cool story! It's like God chose you and your mother to do it.
