Just goes to show why paintings, icons and statues done prayerfully are so beautiful, because they, indeed, are borne out of prayer.
I find when I am making vestments, that they turn out better when I remind myself that I am not just making a shirt or pair of pants.

COOL!
Off and on for 30 years. The women on my dad's side have for generations. My mom inherited all those patterns when I was in 2nd grade. See, there was an incident in the school cafeteria involving me and mustard and the front of my Carmelite principal's habit. She had to make a new habit for her to keep me in school. Once she made for one, all the sisters wanted new ones, and then our pastor started asking how they ended up with new duds. So it was all my fault that my Protestant mother had to learn to sew chasubles and such, and since I got her into it, I had to help.
