My mom likes to watch this one show called Say Yes to the Dress which is about women who are wedding dress shopping and they bring along their loved ones to get more opinions on the dresses. I watched one episode with her and not a one of them was modest. One of them that a woman tried on was YELLOW. I thought, "Not only is it immodest but yellow? Why would you want to wear anything other than white?"

It was to symbolize their fidelity till death. But yea I agree with you!

I will give the show this though... the bridal shop featured in the show can and does do modest gowns when they are asked for. There was this one Muslim girl that was getting married and she came to the shop. They gave her a very, very modest white gown. Edit: I think it was in one of the first few episodes of the show. tinytherese Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Has anyone else seen Bridezilla. Now, that's an entertaining show! This thread reminds me of a Friends episode. I rarely watch it, usually just when my mom has it on. There's this one where Rachel is feeling depressed about something and she and the other women on the show somehow get a hold of wedding gowns even though none of them are engaged and wear them. The women say that they feel so much better wearing the gowns, despite the situation.

I know that white symbolizes purity and such however sometimes it is just not flattering. In my opinion, if someone decides to wear another color other than white and people think that they are impure then maybe they shouldn't be at the ceremony. Seriously. It really isn't any of their business. The bride and the groom know what is going down. That is really all who is concerned. Now yellow....ew. I also think that it should be some derivative of white. Not purple or red or such. But anyways, I am not getting married anytime soon so what do I know. Meg

Just my opinion. You should wear something that is pretty and that is flattering on you. Again if people are thinkng ill of you for not wearing white, then maybe they shouldn't be there. But anyway, Princess, do you make veils too?

I have a friend who got married last year. Her sister made a comment about her not wearing a white dress. I have heard others on here voice the same opinion. I was more putting it out there than anything else. Sorry.... Yellow isn't my thing either.
