Not Swedish. Proudly Indiana-born and raised. Ancestors were Swiss. Does that count?

im sorry.
they have a wierd system...something called "Metric" and it's hard to learn.
metric is a hard system to learn? its based off 10. whereas a yard is 3 feet; a mile is either 5280 feet or 8 furlongs;
there are imperial and US gallons; one fathom is 6.08 feet, one Cable is about 100 fathoms; small weights are in grains and drachms, which are respectively 1/7000th and 1/256th of a pound. a "hundredweight" is actually 112 pounds.
Acre = 4 roods = 10 sq chains = 4840 sq yards = Statute acre [0.40 hectare] [eg. a good-sized football pitch – but note that a Customary (or Saxon) acre was different, and that Scottish and Irish acres were different again]
Virgate = 30 acres [but varied in different districts - also called yardland]
Hide = 4 virgates [but really denoted the amount of land sufficient to support a family, and varied according to the locality or quality of the land]

yup, makes perfect sense to me! :)
