heheh there are a couple of metal heads here, though i probably have the heaviest stuff.
once i started playing guitar i just kept following the best riffs and solos etc until i was thoroughly into metal. the harsh vocals i used to just put up with but now i mostly enjoy, few bands being the exception.
i am not a catholic like most of the people here, i am a christian though, never stopped me from listening to bands like the ones i listed.
It's hard for me to listen to death metal and actually enjoy it, I find myself either amused or irritated.

The only music I listen to that might be classified as death metal is the Japanese band Maximum the Hormone. They're like System of a Down except on 10 times more crack.

Well that explains a lot, seing as most Catholics would see a problem with Grogoroth's singer being a gay satanist :-P

I guess I'm just too old school for you folks. I could never get in to Death Metal, but, for us old schoolers ... mine are:

The Beatles
Barenaked Ladies
Green Day

Its hard for me to pick past that cause I like so much stuff. I love finding new bands or local artists. I love Michelle Penn who I doubt many have heard of. Right now my MP3 player has The Beatles, Pink, James Taylor, and Katy Perry. I think. I'm just a diverse kinda gal. Oh, and I love Lilly Allen too.

Yeah, its too hard to pick.

Kinda hard to narrow it down to 10, and I certainly couldn't order them from least to most favorite.
