Passion Sunday

Is there any good reason to combine Passion Sunday with Palm Sunday and to have another Sunday which, I suppose, is called the "Fifth Sunday in Lent"? Why would the greatness of the Liturgy as a whole, the symbolism concerning this time of the year, and the concepts which follow (e.g., no Gloria Patri (Glory Be), covering all images, this can still be done but is not an obligation, etc.)?
