FantasyLand Hotel at West Edmonton Mall. The Roman Room, or the Polynesian. The Polynesian has a waterfall into a hot tub. I'm definitely leaning that way.

Lulz, awesome thread. ^_^

"Miserere Mei" by Lotti

"O Magnum Mysterium" by Victoria

"Sicut Cervus" by Palestrina

"Ave Verum Corpus" by Byrd

Anything by Bruckner or Brahms.

Others that I can't think of now. Motets are smokin', man. :smokey:

I have always liked Bach. He really knew how to write for the brass section. Come, Jesus, Come is my favorite.

Okay, I know this will get me mutilated by you, lilllabettt and who knows who else, but...

...what's the thing with the Miserere?

I've sung it. It bored me to tears. And that normally never happens with this choir unless our conductor gets on a "let's do some 17th century composers who are obscure FOR A GOOD REASON"-spree.

Apart from that, everything by Byrd or Palestrina reduces me to a quivering little heap of mmm-ness. (That actually happened once, it was very embarrassing.)

The Bus Station

I don't know names of many individual pieces -- I have a Tallis Scholars playlist on my iPod with 40+ motets (I didn't even know they were called motets before this thread).

I feel the same way about Palestrina -- pure catharsis.

And I like Miserere a lot too... though I wouldn't say it's among my favorites. A wee bit too long.

BTW if you're a big Palestrina fan I highly recommend the Tallis Scholars sing Palestrina CD -- it's awesome.
