The building was apparently built in 1792, long after Anglicans ceased to have a valid Sacrament of Order, so it isn't as if a consecrated church had been converted into a private home. InHisLove726
That reminds me...I once watched "Ghost Hunters" where they were investigating a house that used to be a church. Not a Catholic Church, though. It was built in the 19th century. I looked up on Google and found it was Season 1, Episode 6. About the pictures you posted, Rexi, I think the stained glass windows are beautiful.
CatherineM
This old house on PBS did an old church in San Francisco. I thought it was pretty cool.
QuoteMan
When my family was on vacation in England, We stayed in a hotel right next to a church. The church had been closed, because it had some sort of a fungus. The sign said they were gutting all of it, and having to rebuild almost everything. This was our hotel, You can see the room we stayed in. It's the top right one. The church was off to the right, and farther out. I'll try to find some pictures... Edited August 10, 2009 by QuoteMan

philothea
I always thought living in a converted church would be cool, though I'd hope there was a nearby bigger, better church, replacing the one that was sold off! But, I just love churches. There's a big convent around here that was converted into luxury condos. I'm not so pleased with that.

Winchester
church is deconsecrated when no longer in use. Even if it were a former Catholic church, it wouldn't be a big deal.
