Medal Of St. Benedict

i woudl like to know the history of the medal. i have two, on on my scapular and one at the crux of a crusifix. i looked up the sayings on it and found that it shoudl say "pax" on the bottom and "ihs" on the top. neither of mine have ihs any place. and the pax is at the top. furthermore, on the back, i read he shoudlhave a cup in his left hand, but in mine it is a cross. is this ok? or was what i read wrong? thank you

It's okay that your medal is the way that it is. By wearing it you acknowledge the need for St. Benedict's intercession. He doesn't care if the picture has a cup or a cross, I assure you.
