Pregnant Friend

One of my friends is due to give birth in a few days. I'm concerned because she is in this other town where there apparentally isn't a hospital nearby and the closest one is in another town and it has the reputation for being a really awful one. Her husband is a volunteer fire fighter and would really have to rush to get to her in time if he were doing that work. She has had a really difficult family life and I'm afraid that she'll make the same mistakes that her abusive mother made with her. I also question my friend's mental state. Her mom has some kind of mental issue and might have passed that onto her. She also doesn't manage her feelings well. She either suppresses them with a false look of happiness on her face when in reality she is definitely not feeling that way or she can't control her anger. She's been known to throw things when she gets angry and since she's about to have a baby boy that scares me all the more. And as nice of a guy as her husband is, I can't help but wonder if she married him so that she could escape her family. She's not known for acting maturely and still needs to learn how to take responsibility for her actions.
