Why would God give humans free will in the first place especially since we know the consequences of our choices made by our free will? It's because of love. Love is not something that can be forced; it is an act of the will. Because our God is a completely loving God, He lets His creation (which includes angels) make the choice to love Him. He allows them to make the choice to love rather than to force them to love. It would not be love if it were something that was forced upon us. When God gives us that first initial call to faith we have the choice to reject that gift or accept it. God gave the angels the same choice to either love Him freely of their own accord or to reject Him. [/quote] Good points. The only slight difference in our situations seems to be that the angels were much more aware of the consequences, because they all at least knew as a pre-established fact that there was a God. Humans aren't in the same situation in which they can be 100% certain of God's existence. Edited October 26, 2009 by lilac_angel
