I watch House on the Internet. :detective:

Doesn't that mean you're a week behind everyone else?

Um no, they upload it like immediately after it has aired. I don't watch TV anyway, there are always someone else in the living room using it.

I would be sort of sad missing House and the hockey games. It would be easy to give up though. During the summer when no shows are airing and there's no hockey, I've gone for months at a time not turning it on.

So if your positive side increased 2%, that means you measure it somehow. What are the units of measurement for positive attitudes?

JMJ
Units of measurement for positive attitudes, my friend, are measured as 1 percent for every person that says "You don't sound so chipper, did someone die?'' or "You don't look really happy, do have TB?" etc and stuff like that. All you have to do is make sure you keep track of it in a notebook. And you can watch all that stuff for free on the Internet, as long as you don't mind watching it 24 hrs after the fact. And if you do mind, well, my friend,

Ah, so if two less people in a month say to you "wow, you look glum. Did your dog die?" the your positive attitude has increased by two percent?

No, if two less people out of 100 each day say "you look so upset, was your house hit by a tornado and you were the sole survivor?'' then that counts as two percent.

Does that mean you have to count every single person you come into contact with during the day?

There's an important problem with that method though. Your "real" attitude could drop significantly, but if you have minimal interaction with a larger number of people, you may have a reported percentage far lower than usual.

For instance, in high school I'd come into direct (however minimal) contact with three or four dozen people in a day. Now in university it's on the scale of hundreds. I don't interact much with the majority of these people, so this would cause the attitude reporting to show greatly reduced instances of "oh wow, it looks like you were just diagnosed with terminal cancer", when in reality my attitude may have worsened.

If last year I had five people in a typical day say "hey, did someone burn down your house and hit you over the head with the wreckage?" I'd be at 10%. This year though, it would take at least twenty people to gather the same percentage.

I can't stand dogs, by the way, so if someone said "wow you look glum, did your dog die...?" I would be inclined to take that person to Starbucks for a large vanilla bean frappucino with whipped cream. my positive attitude would sky rocket. Your math filled speech has confused me and given me a splitting migraine. I don't care how many people come up to me now and say " You look sad, did a group of brain dead college students take your credit card and but Nova Scotia with it and leave you homeless without even thanking you?" my positive attitude has plummeted dangerously low. How sad, but what can I expect from a filthy rich world and it's pompous inhabitents (sp?) who spend all of their time plotting ways to get rid of the other 2 billion people on the planet so thry can be the sole rulers, which makes no sense, since if you have killed off everyone else, there really isn't anything left. I guess that's what comes from watching too many American sci fi movies... I just crack myself up

Nihil Obstat. You are really bad, and my happy meter just stopped. How could you do that to your friend, man? And I was so happy a few moments ago. It was brief and odd feeling.

I am having cold flashes and feeling nauseated from the dog pictures. I see stars of green and blue roses too.

Such beautiful doggies.
