No Internet News On Laetitia Crucis

I fully expected that Laetitia Crucis' community would include pictures of her clothing in the "News and Events" section of their Web page. The Community did this for the last novice when she was clothed.

However, it appears that the Community has chosen not to have an article or pictures of Laetita Crucis' clothing (although there is a mention earlier in "News and Events" that LC (Sadora) would be clothed on September 29). There is a new article posted in "News and Events" (but no article on LC's clothing).

Faithcececila visited LC's community last week on a retreat, and we DO know that LC WAS clothed on September 29 and that she looked VERY happy.

LC's new religious name is "Sister Mary Catherine" (for St. Catherine of Siena).

With or without pictures or an article, our prayers are with Sister Mary Catherine for her continuing happiness, faith, and fulfillment in her vocation.

Its a little odd isnt it? But looking, they seem to make far more of entering postulancy than many communities (here at least) do so maybe its part of that?

But yes, she looked very well and happy when I was there, and I am sure photos will appear at some point.

.... Just a random thought... Didn't LC post somewhere that it was HER who used to take a lot of pictures? For example at the trip to world youth day... So maybe since she was not taking pictures, there are no pictures... But well, maybe not exactly "the" answer to it - as I guess one would for sure take an "official" picture. :)

Excellent point! And, as I said above, we have the most important news already--namely that Laetitia Crucis made it back to her "home" in England safely, that she WAS clothed on September 29, and that the new Sister Mary Catherine is VERY happy.

The picture is just an extra. Fair is fair. It's not as if I'm planning to post MY picture anytime soon! :paperbag:

In the end, I've realized I don't need a picture to pray for Sister Mary Catherine's vocation and her happiness. And, just as importantly, to pray for the apostolate and continued growth of her Community.

Yes, please keep LC and her community in your prayers. She mentioned to me in August that her community had a special intention they were praying for this October, so it would be great to pray with them for that! :)

 You'd think that by now I'd know better and have some other form of exercise other than "jumping to conclusions."

But, I'm very glad to be wrong. As announced in the "News and Events" section of the Web site of the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph (the Community of Phatmasser Laetitia Crucis--now Sister Mary Catherine), the BBC has filmed a documentary called "Young Nuns" and some of the filming for the documentary was done at the Community's St. Dominic's priory! How exciting!

Also, as posted in another Phatmass thread on this documentary http://www.phatmass....80#entry2325280, there is an article in The Tablet on the documentary that quotes Sister Mary Catherine. I hope someone who has access to The Tablet will post this.

So, there may be very good reasons for SMC's Community to postpone, or perhaps decide not to post, pictures of SMC's clothing, especially if it turns out that SMC has an appearance, however short, in the documentary. (Apparently the documentary primarily highllights the vocation of two other Sisters/nuns in the UK.)

In any case, I am very excited, and will be keeping an eye on the "Young Nuns" thread for any posts with previews about this show. Apparently we also don't know yet if and when the documentary will be available to U.S. viewers. I hope it is made available in the U.S. and Canada, because I think there are many young women in North America who might be interested in pursuing their vocation in the UK.

FYI. Here is a link to the mention of the documentary on the Web site of the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph (SMC's Community). http://www.dominican.../News/news1.htm Edited by IgnatiusofLoyola

Mary's Margaret

What joy!! Those of you who knew her before she entered must be thrilled beyond words. May she always walk in the light of the Resurrection.
