Yup. And I like James Michener, which is probably why I like to write... and like to write LONG stuff! ;)

Now you must be joking, Papist! But for the rest of you, he was writer who LOVED to write historical fiction... and he's pretty renounded for 1000 page books, and literally starting the rocks & animals and then all the generations of people.... I especially liked Hawaii, The Source (about an archeologial dig in Israel), Centennial (about Colorado), Space (astronauts & space program), Chesapeake (Maryland & Virginia) and I am currently re-reading The Novel (which is in part about Pennsylvania Dutch country....) Would start with one of the other books, however, as The Novel is a little different....

If you haven't found him, would be great on-the-plane reading going to meetup......

Bet they will miss you, CM! Maybe you can try to come out west if we end up with one out here in a year or two.....

Actually if I had planned on a far-away trip it would have been easier -- would've been on a jetplane vs. trying to drive and deal with work madness.

I won't be able to go. I've been feeling pretty under the weather lately. So, keep my in your prayers and tell Mikolbe not to be mad at me. I hope you guys have fun! I might even call and you all can put me on speaker and ask me questions about my cats lol. But yeah, have fun! :)
