I watched this documentary the other day, and it gives a sense of how isolated this country is, the "cult of personality" that surrounded kim, and how many north koreans worshipped the man... i'm betting mostly out of intense fear....

Well, the country is completely isolated and has been for decades. I can't fathom how any sort of revolution could possibly take place, especially because China wants North Korea to remain nice and stable. Kim Jong-Il has been grooming one of his sons to take over for a while now.
