Finding the spirituality that really speaks to us is less like finding shoe that fits than a process of osmosis that somehow seeps into us until it forms part of who we are and how we relate to God. I told my SD recently that I thought Carmel was in my bones and he knew what I meant. I can't say it was something I expected, in fact in my early encounters with Carmel I was quite turned off, but I think that was just because I didn't understand it properly. Actually entering Carmel isn't an option for me, but Carmelite spirituality feeds me in my walk with God and now I can't imagine not being part of the Carmelite charism. And I have week's retreat with them at the beginning of May which is razzle dazzle as they say on Phatmass :saint2:
