NonNovi Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 This reminds me a lot of this song (think Sound of Music, Maria singing about her favorite things) Dalmatics on deacons and cassocks on priests, habits on nuns and immovable feasts, bishops in soutanes with big, gaudy rings - these are a few of my favorite things. Devotions to Mary, novenas and stations, fasting and penance on Days of Rogation, High Mass and Low Mass and papal blessings – these are a few of my favorite things. Rosaries and incense and fiddleback vestments, BINGO on Mondays with homemade refreshments, statues of angels with halos and wings – these are a few of my favorite things. When RENEW strikes! When the rail’s gone! When I’m feeling sad, I simply pop into a Solemn High Mass and then I don’t feel so baaaaaad!
i<3franciscans Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I love that!!! I figured out Call Me Maybe on the guitar...
PhuturePriest Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I realize I have probably posted on here too much, but this is semi-important. I don't know why, but some of the lyrics really speak to me, namely the chorus: Did I just hear that? No, this is crazy! Could it really be, He called me, maybe? It's hard to think straight, It’s all so hazy, Could it really be, He called me, maybe? I have never had a song speak to me before, but those lyrics specifically do.

PhuturePriest Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I'm making up my own male vocations version. I won't give too much away, but it does involve amesome facial hair.
Gabriela Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 What I think is funny is that even the repetitiveness of the original song translates well into the discernment version, cuz we really do run the same things in our head over and over AND OVER again, a million times, when discerning, right? Nice job!

Just have to say those are far better English lyrics than I could've written!
mysisterisalittlesister Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I<3fran was singing this yesterday on the way to final profession. I love this song! Great job!

But I never said I wrote that song myself Just something I found on the internet a while ago, seemed appropriate to post it here. I can only wish my English will be as good as that once.
DiscerningCatholic Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Me gusta!!! :D :D :D I can't write songs to save my life.
