They have a new postulant!! HURRAH

And you know that Mother Gabrielle is the former Mother Vicar (St. Catherine) from the PCPA's in Hanceville. The other Sister you see being clothed was a Junior Professed (Sr. Mary Rose or Sr. Rose Marie) at Hanceville as well. I correspond with them and they are possibly getting another postulant after the 1st of the year.

Sr Mary Rose. Her family is here locally. Her mom and sisters wear skirts and mantillas, and her dad and brother wear suits. Her dad is a K of C. He took a pic of me and her together outside of church. She is praying for our project, since one of our objectives is to prayerfully support new charisms.

Blessings,
Gemma

Some of you may recognize Phatmass's very own TeresaBenedicta on the left (your left, the priest's right) of the priest here after making her first vows.

Sr Marie!

Are you sure those photos are from New Jersey? It looks to me like they're of the new apostolic sisters' house in Princeville, IL. They've been fixing it up and just started up their first American novitiate there this fall.

It's a pity they no longer have their old habit!!

^^^^^^^

Disagree!

The head gear is awful, impractical and was designed by the casual folding of a table napkin into this preposterous shape.

I find it so nice! But surely it shouldn't be very practical!

I agree with you Max. Not only is it impractical but what they wear now is much more in line with the original reasons for the habit.

I often wonder how long it takes the PCPAs, Carmelites of the Sacred Heart, and the SMMCs to get used to the tight wimple around their neck. I have a real issue with turtlenecks because I have always had a sensitive neck area and it feels like they are choking me. I hated when people touched my neck as a kid. I don't know if I could get used to always having something over my neck unless it was loose like the Carmelites or Poor Clare Colettines. :)

Same here! I don't think I could deal with that all the time... I would have to offer it up!! ;)

Haha I wonder if you could test that out during your first months discerning. Kind of like, "Can I wear the wimple for a week or two and see how I like it??" HAHA
