Now That I'm On The Dating Scene...

I must say, I have had tons of changes happen. I have been fighting with my sister for over a year about my acne, saying it's fine and it will go away. I told my sister tonight to get acne stuff and show me the ropes. I even bought a comb! I never comb my hair! Well, now I do, I just didn't used to. My posture has improved greatly as well. I'm working on being more outgoing, on laughing and smiling, etc. I'm outgoing by nature, but my stuttering has always held me back. Now I have decided to not let that get in the way. I practiced it at seminary this weekend, and it really worked. A lot of the time my stuttering wasn't even a problem, and when it was I just worked through it. I'm trying to be more expressive, which again I naturally am at home with my sister, but not to anyone else. Is there anything else I should work on? Any advice on anything other than "Just be you"?

Be yourself, obviously.

Comb your hair, brush your teeth, etc. Wear clothes that fit properly.

I'm probably missing a bunch. But then I'm just another clueless guy.

Congratulations on practicing basic hygiene! (Sorry, dude, I could NOT resist.)

Jokes aside, no, I really don't think there is anything else you should work on. You've seen us go over this with people ad nauseam, telling them to just be themselves, work on being happier in their own skin, more confident. Everything else will fall into place in time.

Actually, I have been practicing general hygiene for a while. Taking showers frequently, brushing my teeth twice a day and flossing every night, I'm going to buy an Orabrush soon to conquer my breath, etc. I'm just getting to the point where combs have become important. I wouldn't want the ladies to run away from me simply because of my hair.

Thank Heaven for that. Although, I am sure if your breath smelled like funk Emily wouldn't have agreed to dance with you, so you must be doing pretty well. ;)

To be fair, every time I had to talk to her up close I kind of looked away. I made it look like I was speaking in her ear, but in reality I was making sure she couldn't smell my breath. ;)

start thinking about her Christmas present

Genius! I never would have thought of that before! She loves theology and she hasn't really read any books on it, so I will give her a book on theology or something, I think.

Buy a pick and then pick out your hair to make an affro. She won't really talk to you too much until one day you just shave it completely off without any warning and she'll fall madly in love with you. I currently have 100% success rate with this (from a sample size of 1).

You can't go wrong.
