Their life rocks, no other Community can claim to live on "Mount" anything unless they actually live on a mountain, and they generally don't wear shoes (Something those lazy and sensitive Dominicans have given up). Mother Mistress and I were chatting about various communities and she mentioned she'd spent a lot of time visiting a Carmelite community nearby when she in college (not for discernment). So I asked which one it was, and she said...Lafayette! I was all like woah, I know someone who likes them. Thought you might like that tidbit. [/quote] Franciscans have Mount Alverno where st. Francis received the stigmata. The Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration live on a Mt. Throughout the ages their beauty and majesty have lifted man's heart to God and called him upward to a place of sacred encounter. The Son of God Himself, when He walked our earth, sought the heights of the mountains to pray to His Father. The whole of our blessed vocation is a summons from the Bridegroom, "Come, let us climb the mountain of the Lord!"
