Phorum Connect And Log In Problems

This is Nunsense, and I can't connect to phatmass or log in - I get an error message saying I am not allowed to visit the community. I can see my log in name at the top of the screen but can't access anything at all. I have used a proxy server to set up this new account, but can't reply to a PM from CoraliePrincess since I am too new now.

Can anyone tell me what is happening to my account? I appear to have been blocked or deleted, and haven't received any word about this. Help.

Well, I can connect to the site using a proxy server but not directly. And it keeps telling me I don\'t have Java enabled but I have installed this again and enabled it again and it still won\'t work for me so I can\'t update status and other features. I suppose I could have a virus even though I have a commercial virus protection. May have to use my computer backup and reload the whole machine. Thanks for checking for me dUSt and thanks HSM for pinning the post. I couldn\'t do anything at all for awhile. I am on the site now through freeproxyserver.

I don't know for sure if that's it. We haven't banned an IP since September.

I couldn't before because I had to go through a proxyserver and it wouldn't let me, but now I am using a different ISP (so different IP address) I can... I still wonder why that particular IP address was not 'allowed' to visit the site. As you can see at the top - I was logged in but couldn't acces anything!

Hm, that is very strange. I was wondering if it might be a firewall issue, but it clearly is not. I really have no idea.

Sometimes people in Australia have difficulty connecting with people in the lower worlds. Or alternatively as Nihil has suggested it might be a firewall issue. I think it is a very specific IP problem since I can access the site using a different ISP and IP address. Another solution that has worked for has been to reboot the router to get a new IP address and try again - it usually works. So I just don't get why this is happening, but since I know how to work around it now, I don't really care !
