I'm working on a project for some friends that I'll post about in a few weeks and could use the help.

The fewer characters involved, the better.

Nihil Obstat

The Agony in the Garden, probably. Does that count as a 'story'?

If not, then the Book of Tobit.

The story of Saul saving Jabesh-Gilead. (1 Samuel)

Essentially, Jabesh-Gilead was under siege by the Philistines. According to the Scriptures the "Spirit of the LORD" kindled Saul's wrath, and he took a yoke of oxen, tore them in pieces and said, "He that does not come after Saul to Jabesh-Gilead, so shall it be done to his oxen." And the fear of the LORD fell on them all.

Saul was awesome....before he fell...

I particularly like it where the Bible says the "fear of the LORD" fell on all the people. Saul, like any good leader, knew how to put the fear of God in wayward subjects.

Me too. The whole Book of Ruth. :)

She had me at 16 But Ruth said:

“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
17 Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”
