Brother Vinny Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 After being away from the Church for a while, is the proper order of business cleaning up one's life before getting oneself to Mass, or do you get yourself to a pew first?
IcePrincessKRS Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Get your butt in confession as soon as you can, and get your butt in the pew for Mass. If we all worked on getting our lives in order first the pews would all be empty.
Basilisa Marie Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Go to mass, but don't receive communion until you go to confession. :)
Anastasia13 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) :bounce: BV! Welcome back! And welcome back to the Church. She missed you. :) Edited June 28, 2013 by Light and Truth
Nihil Obstat Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 As a Catholic, you remain obligated to go to Mass on Sundays, whether or not you receive the Eucharist. So Mass first if you do have to prioritize, but confession absolutely ASAP.
Archaeology cat Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Welcome back with the rest of us sinners. seconded

Nihil Obstat Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Saturday evenings count toward Sunday? I forget. Under current canon law, they sure do. Welcome home, dude.
MissyP89 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Don't be afraid to struggle. Learning to love God is a process. There's no litmus test except a willing heart and an honest attempt to understand and love Him. Be at peace. So glad for you!
IcePrincessKRS Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Saturday evenings count toward Sunday? I forget. As previously noted, yes it does. It also has the added benefit of generally being preceded by an hour or so of Confession time if you can get there early.

IcePrincessKRS Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 That's the plan. :) :like: Sounds like a perfect plan to me.
Amppax Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Welcome home good sir. And welcome (back?) to phatmass.
ChristinaTherese Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I definitely third (or tenth or whatever it is) the welcome back home! :welcome:

dUSt Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This thread sparked an amazing idea. For parishes that have more than one priest hearing confession, one of the lines should be the "express line". lol
