IcePrincessKRS Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This thread sparked an amazing idea. For parishes that have more than one priest hearing confession, one of the lines should be the "express line". lol It'd never work. There's always that one inconsiderate person with 40 items in the 10 items or less lane.

dUSt Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Hahahahahahahahahahaha! This is my favorite post from today. That's only because I posted my picture response to the gay marriage decision yesterday.

(Too bad I can't put some back. :-/ )
AnneLine Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Welcome home! Like your plan for Saturday. We are ALL sinners and have ALL been in that boat. So just go into that confessional and just dump the stuff. The Holy Spirit will guide you. I bet that if you tell Father straight off you are trying to make your 1st confession after a long time away, he'll help you do it well. We'll be praying for you, too.
AnneLine Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I've sometimes wondered if it wouldn't be possible to have an express / modified express line. One line where you just wait your 'spot' - but if you want a particular confessor, you then wait for that one to open after you have made your way thru the express line. It would let people get the confessor they want (we usually have 3 in our parish, and some are more popular than others... and some encourage 'longer' confessions than others....) while still letting the quick people get in & out... Thoughts?
ChristinaTherese Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Well, that was easy. So you've been to Mass and Confession now? Welcome back home!
Brother Vinny Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Feel better? :) Yes, yes I do. As I told a friend, it was nothing earth-shattering, but it was nice.
PhuturePriest Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Yes, yes I do. As I told a friend, it was nothing earth-shattering, but it was nice. That's great! I'm glad you went!
Brother Vinny Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 That's great! I'm glad you went! Thanks! By the way, all these changes to the liturgy were made while I was gone. Who do I talk to about fixing it? :cointoss:
Not The Philosopher Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 By the way, all these changes to the liturgy were made while I was gone. Who do I talk to about fixing it? :cointoss: Let the games begin...
PhuturePriest Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Thanks! By the way, all these changes to the liturgy were made while I was gone. Who do I talk to about fixing it? :cointoss: I'd schedule a meeting with Pope Francis, as he is the man to go to.
Brother Vinny Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 (edited) I'd schedule a meeting with Pope Francis, as he is the man to go to. Awesome. Put in a good word for me. :D Changes weren't that bad. Just a little jarring. As though someone had changed the decor a bit. Edited June 30, 2013 by Brother Vinny
Eowyn Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Your Mamma missed you - she's glad you are back. How about trying a decade of the rosary?
Brother Vinny Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Your Mamma missed you - she's glad you are back. How about trying a decade of the rosary? Okay, sounds pleasant.
Basilisa Marie Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Well, if it helps, one reason the changes were made was so that our English translation is now a whole lot closer to the Latin (and, thus, what everyone else in the world says). Some of my friends who are Hispanic would go to a Spanish mass sometimes, and they were always confused why the words were different. :hehe2:
