There actually was a very good reason for why the forum owner disabled it for everyone. Dust said that adult members were sending private messages to minors that were salacious. So, if it keeps kids safe, it's certainly worth the inconvenience. I must say I was shocked. I had no idea this sort of thing would go on in a forum like this.
