HomeTeamFamily Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 i read an article about these in our paper and how like a bunch of celebs including pam anderson were sporting them....this got me to thinking...... while i respect the intent, or supposed intent, to spread the name of Jesus, it seems like its more of a fad than a true statement of faith that being said, i dont know if the person who wears it is truly a Christian living for Him or just trying to be fashionable furthermore, its hard to say whether the intent of producing the shirt was to make a new fad or to honestly try and spread the name of Jesus i do like the idea of a "the pope is dope" shirt.....because that at least identifies one with the Catholic faith and not the generic Christian title just my .02
Iacobus Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 I don't like the Jesus and Mary ones but the Pope is Dope I love.
the_rev Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Well, I saw a non-Catholic wearinga Mary is My HOmeGirl shirt...
cathgirl Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 I don't like the homeboy ones, i stopped completely after i saw ashton k. (sp?) wearing one.
Philippe Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 my mom came home with a Jesus is my Homeboy shirt for me and i told her 2 send it back but i think the pop is dope ones are cool... would it be ok to wear that?
zwergel88 Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 I don't really know what I think. I guess they are okay. It is good if people wear them if they really mean it, but something about it seems just a little bit disrespectful. However, when I see someone else wearing one of these shirts, I think to myself that they must be a very religious person, so I guess they make a good impression.
nikkan_hanil Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004
i voted #3
Whoah! Out of all the people... O-o
crusader1234 Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Guess which one I picked!!! I think it totally depends on the person. You never know what people mean by wearing them, but personally I get a kick out of it when I see Jewish people wearing them. Thats probably a sin but it is funny.
MorphRC Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I think they smell of elderberries. Its like a lot of school kids trying to be rappers, when 1: there WHITE 2: They smell of elderberries 3: They smell of elderberries..
MorphRC Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Of course not all white rappers are bad...ie. Em'm. and a few guys in australia.
