Life is all perspective and attitude.

Life! Born of kings and slaves and all in between. We are born to choices that choose our path. And also choices by others that direct our path. So many twists and turns never certain to where they may lead. Which is why we need to lean on God for His path is not crooked. Then we can have an attitude that will give us our perspective and then smile and laugh and know the smile and humor given by God.

Monkish humor, which illustrates Barbara Therese's comment and Gary david's elucidation. From Saint Martin's abbey in Washington state.

One of God's creatures visited the atrium of the abbey church this afternoon!
Perhaps hoping to find a priest to hear his confession.
Please do not allow this to deter you from joining us for mass at 5:00. By then, hopefully one of my fellow confreres will have escorted this fellow from the premises.

Reminds me of when I was talking with a Carmelite nun about the garden.  I was speaking about weeds.  She said: "Oh, you mean our uninvited guests".  Thank you, Luigi, for a monastic perspective and attitude.

Perspective and attitude

Out here in the world for the world, it can be difficult to retain gentleness and a certain genuine charitable perspective on all things.  It is another one of the things I miss about monastic life...........I wasn't in the life long enough for it to wash off on me.

Thank you, Gary - and very well said.

"When you're in you're casket and friends and congregation members are mourning over you what would you like them to say?"
Artie says: "I would them to say that I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader and a great family man."

Eugene says: "I would them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a difference in people's lives."

Al says: "I'd like them to say "Look, he's moving!"
