Hey all of you gals and guys. I have a great idea! We should all post our favorite prayers! That way, there may be some that the rest of us haven't seen, but we really like, and it will help us all out. Capische? So I start!

Lord, the life of a priest today is difficult. With dwindling numbers, more demands are made of them. They can easily burn out in their efforts to serve. Bless your priests. Guard them against concerns that only you can take care of. Fill them with greater hunger to know you, love you, and tell others about you. Bless them with true and caring friends. Amen.

LITANY OF HUMILITY

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Hear me.

From the desire of being esteemed,. Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred to others,
From the desire of being consulted,.
From the desire of being approved,
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,.
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,

That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should.

The litany is usually said after receiving Eucharist at Mass, but it is an excellent prayer for anytime! There are many, many more prayers that I enjoy, espeically the rosary and such, but I decided to post those two for now.

Sé do bheath' a Mhuire,
atá lán de ghrásta,
tá an Tiarna leat.
Is beannaithe thú idir mná
agus is beannaithe toradh do bhruinne
losa.

A Naomh Mhuire, a mháthair Dé,
guí orainn na peacaithe,
anois is ar uair ar mbás.
Amen.

I like the one to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

"Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose..."

I'm afraid I don't remember it all. :(

Which language is that? I don't recognize it.

The litany of humility is a wonderful prayer, but I have to say my personal favorite is the Prayer to St. Michael.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God,
cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

the Hail, Holy Queen is up there as well!

- Your Brother In Christ, Jeff

I say this one every night.

O my Lord and Savior, support me in my last hour in the strong arms of Thy Sacraments and by the fresh fragrance of Thy consolations. Let the absolving words be said over me, and the holy oil sign and seal me; and let Thine own Body be my food, and Thy Blood my sprinkling; and let my sweet Mother, Mary, breathe on me, and my Angel whisper peace to me, and my glorious saints and my own dear patrons smile upon me, that, in them all and through them all, I may receive the gift of perseverence, and die as I desire to live, in Thy faith, in Thy Church, in Thy service, and in Thy love. Amen.

my favorite nighttime prayer...

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph: I give you my heart and my soul.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph: Assist me in my last agony.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph: May I sleep and take my rest in peace with you.

Saint Maria Goretti, strengthened by God's grace, you did not hesitate, even at the age of eleven, to sacrifice life itself to defend your virginal purity. Look graciously on the unhappy human race that has strayed far from the path of eternal salvation. Teach us all, and especially our youth, the courage and promptness that will help us avoid anything that could offend Jesus. Obtain for me a great horror of sin, so that I may live a holy life on earth and win eternal glory in heaven. Amen.

Loving Mother of the Redeemer,Gate of Heaven, Star of the Sea
Assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again.

To the wonderment of nature you bore your creator, yet remained a Virgin after as before.

You who received Gabriel's joyful greeting, have pity on us poor sinners.

Rebirth flame

i'm a man of the divine mercy myself... i love this prayer:
For the sake of His Sorrowful Passion
Have Mercy on us and on the whole world
and this
Eternal Father, i offer you the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity
of your dearly Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ
in atonement for our sins and for those of the whole world.
and the Guardian Angel prayer rocks, too!
Angel of God, my Guardian dear
To whom God's Love commits thee near
Ever this day be at my side
To light, to guard, to rule, to guide
Amen.
